Woman raped in auto, infant flung on road

Gurugram, A 23-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by three men in a moving auto-rickshaw who flung her infant daughter on the road for “distracting” them, killing her on the spot.
The incident occurred on May 29 but a case of molestation and murder was registered only today after the victim approached the police.
An investigating official said: “We are investigating the matter. The complainant will be sent for a medical examination.”
The victim, a resident of Bass Kusla village near IMT-Manesar, reportedly left for her parental home on May 29 with her six-month-old daughter after a quarrel with her husband. She took an auto which was carrying three passengers, all male.
“Mid-way, they started touching me. When I objected, all three pounced on me. My daughter started crying. They snatched her from me and threw her on the road, saying she was ruining their fun. They raped me and dumped me,” the victim told the police. In shock over the brutal death of her child, she did not approach the police immediately.
“She did not want to undergo a medical test till her daughter’s last rites,” explained a grieving relative. The police have got the sketches of the accused made and are hunting for them.
