Windfall for India cricketers: Retainer, match fee doubled

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) today doubled the annual retainership fee of 32 centrally contracted cricketers. The Committee of Administrators (COA) announced that the Grade A players would now get Rs two crore instead of Rs one crore, while the Grade B and C players will get Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh, respectively.
The match fee for Test matches has been hiked to Rs 15 lakh per match from Rs 7.50 lakh. For the ODIs and T20Is, the fee has been doubled to Rs 6 lakh and 3 lakh, respectively. The decisions will be implemented retrospectively from October, 2016.
The biggest names missing from the list are Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir. Raina was part of the Indian T20 squad after the new contracts came into effect, yet he has failed to make the 32-player list. Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir have missed out as they haven’t played for India after October 1, 2016.
Grade A: MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Murali Vijay
Grade B: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuvraj Singh.
Grade C: Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Amit Mishra, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Hardik Pandya, Ashish Nehra, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Parthiv Patel, Jayant Yadav, Mandeep Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shardul Thakur, Rishabh Pant.
