VIGILANCE NABS ASI IN BRIBE CASE

Chandigarh, July 26: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10000/-.

Disclosing this here an official spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Gurcharan Singh posted at Rural, Police Station Dakha district Ludhiana was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Joginder Singh of village Gure, Dakha, district Ludhiana. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs. 10000 for presenting challan in the court against FIR No.34/2016.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses

. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigations was under progress.
