Vigilance Bureau Punjab nabs PSPCL J.E for taking bribe

Chandigarh, February 13: Vigilance Bureau Punjab today nabbed Junior Engineer of PSPCL Jalandhar red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that Satpal, Junior Engineer (JE) posted at PSPCL Jalandhar was caught on the complaint of Gursehaj Singh resident of 425, Paras Estate Basti Peer Daad, Jalandhar city.

The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said JE was demanding Rs. 20,000 for removing the electricity pole in front of his shop.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused JE arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigation is under progress.
