Veteran actor Manoj Kumar to be bestowed with Dadasaheb Phalke award!

New Delhi: One of the most prominent actors of Indian cinema, Manoj Kumar has been a cult artist and an inspiration to many generations together.
The 78-year-old actor will be honoured with the prestigious 47th Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2015. Marking Manoj Kumar’s outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, the actor will be bestowed with a Swarn Kamal (Golden Lotus), a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs and a shawl, according to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

For his incredible performances and contribution to cinema, Kumar will always be a shining star of Hindi Film Fraternity. He is remembered for his epic films like ‘Hariyali Aur Raasta’, ‘Woh Kaun Thi’, ‘Himalaya Ki God Mein’, ‘Do Badan, Upkaar’, ‘Patthar Ke Sanam’, ‘Purab Aur Paschim’, and ‘Kranti’.

He is popular for making patriotic movies that are soul gripping and has been honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Manoj Kumar also has 7 Filmfare Awards in his name for his extraordinary film direction and story writing.
