Twinkle Khanna : From B-Town Stardom to becoming Mrs Funny Bones

Twinkle Khanna, a former Bollywood actress and Akshay Kumar’s wife, has taken the internet by storm with her witty and questioning article, addressing the controversial AIB roast.

Daughter of the late Rajesh Khanna and veteran actress Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna first forayed into cinema with ‘Barsaat’, opposite Bobby Deol in 1995. The film was a huge commercial hit and Twinkle walked away with the Filmfare Best Debut Award that year.

Though her film career never really took off, Twinkle Khanna acted in quite a few films, working with biggies including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt.

Some of her more prominent works are ‘Jab Pyaar Kissie Hota Hai’, ‘Baadshah’ and ‘Mela’. Apparently, filmmaker Karan Johar approached Twinkle for the role of Tina in ‘Kuch Kuch’ Hota Hai’, but she refused.
But her acting career soon started to slide. It was after her marriage to Akshay Kumar in 2001, that Twinkle Khanna quit acting for good. She then reinvented herself as a professional interior designer and opened her own store in Mumbai in 2002. Since then, Twinkle has been continuously expanding her business, receiving immense recognition for her keen eye when it comes to creative detail.

Not only does she have a talent for interiors, but also is also quite the fashionista. Her style is simple, beautiful and classy. Twinkle Khanna has made the best-dressed list on more than one occasion.

Now, it seems the mother-of-two has donned yet another hat, that of a writer. Her recent column in the Times of India has gone viral, with many appreciating her downright straightforward attitude in highlighting issues that are of actual importance.

Her tweets, sent from her handle called Mrs FunnyBones are quite popular and are often re-tweeted and shared by friends and fans.

Recently, her doting hubby Akshay Kumar had also said that he finds his wife Twinkle’s command over words gripping and added that she ‘rocks’ in her avatar of Mrs. Funny Bones on Twitter. “My wife has always been very good with her words, whether they are witty or kind, blunt or honest, her tongue has a way of working that makes everyone in the room sit up and listen. I couldn’t be more proud of her,” he said recently.
