Tokyo: A Japanese startup has developed an app that will help students speak and pronounce their English language correctly.
TerraTalk, a Japanese company, wants to help English learners with a new app that promises to correct their pronunciation and grammar, says a report in TechCrunch.
As of now, the company has launched its app on Android with $1.34 million in funding from Incubate Fund, but plans to have an iOS version ready later this year.
Although other language apps include pronunciation correction among their features, TerraTalk differentiates by using artificial intelligence to analyze things like grammar as well, adds the report.
Currently, the app’s interface is in Japanese only, but according to the company’s founder Yoshiyuki Kakihara, TettaTalk is “language” agnostic, which means that it can easily be localized and marketed to English language learners in other countries.
At present, the app is free of cost, but can be charged later on a monthly subscription plan.
