Number of Indian Americans in elected offices not reflective of their population: Kamala Harris
Chandigarh, October 21: Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today take stock of preparations for the forthcoming World Cup Kabbadi to be held in Punjab from November 3 to November 16. He also issued directions to concerned officials to complete all the arrangements in time besides insuring best provisions for the audience.
In the review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister was informed that there would be thirteen men’s teams and eleven women’s teams representing various countries. The countries representing men’s teams included India, Argentina, USA, England, Canada, Sierra Leone, Iran, Denmark, Kenya, Tanzania, Australia, Sweeden and Spain whereas the Women teams India, Sierra Leone, Denmark, USA, England, Kenya, Mexico, Tanzania, New Zealand, Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka.
He was also informed that all the preparations for the opening and closing of this mega event at Roopnagar and Jalalabad were at final stage. The arrangements for successful conduct of league matches at Gurdaspur, Sarabha (Ludhiana), Attari (Amritsar), Munak (Sangrur), Begowal (Kapurthala), Rode (Moga), Adampur (Jalandhar), Barnala, Chohla Sahib (Tarntaran), Nabha, Badal (Sri Mukatsar Sahib) and Mehraj (Bathinda) were also reviewed during the meeting. Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure timely arrangements for all the league matches.
Prominent amongst others, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, Mr. D.P. Reddy, Principal Secretary Finance, Mr. Vishwajit Khanna, Principal Secretary Civil Aviation, Mr. Anirudh Tewari, Principal Secretary Industry, Mr. P. S. Aujla, Principal Secretary to Deputy CM, Mr. Vivek Partap Singh, Secretary Sports, Mr. Balbir Kumar Bawa, ADGP Security, Mr. Ajay Mahajan, Mr. Rahul Tewari and Mr. Manvesh Singh Sidhu, all Special Principal Secretary to Deputy CM, Mr. Rajat Aggarwal, Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Mr. Jangveer Singh, Media Advisor to Deputy CM, Mr. Charanjit Singh Brar, OSD to Deputy CM and Mr. Rahul Gupta, Director Sports were also present on the occasion.
