Mumbai, Khoobsurat may not have performed as expected at the box office but the film was received quite well. Sonam in particular was charming in the Disney film and the little fashionista almost looked like the perfect Disney princess. Apparently, even Disney seems impressed by Sonam’s Khoobsurat performance and have signed her on for the desi remake of the Hollywood film ‘The Princess Diaries’. The original starred Anne Hathaway and is widely regarded as her breakthrough movie. ‘The Princess Diaries’ is a realistic fairytale about a normal, clumsy young girl who discovers that she is infact a princess and then undergoes a transformation to live up to her lineage.
Sonam plays these girl-next-door characters to perfection and we all know how glamorous she can look when she wants to so she does sound like the perfect choice for the desi remake of ‘The Princess Diaries’.
Some critics might argue Anil Kapoor’s daughter lacks finer acting skills but it looks like Sonam has finally found her niche. If nothing else, Sonam looks pretty no matter what she does and is always a delight to watch on screen.
