Mumbai: Sunny Deol is regarded one of the fittest actors in Bollywood but the star says he does not understand the current fad among the young actors to get six pack abs.
The 58-year-old actor is clear on one thing that his sons, Karan and Rajvir, will never obsess with getting the perfect physique and rather work on their acting skills.

“My sons approach towards cinema is similar to what I have had. My approach has been towards acting and not training for being an action guy. You will not see my sons build six pack abs or something like that for the sake of doing it,” Sunny said.

“It (creating six packs abs) seems to be the necessity to become an actor. If the youth today would stop doing that for becoming an actor and work on their belief and increase their confidence, then these cosmetic things are not important,” he said.

Karan and Rajvir have been working with Sunny on his films to understand the craft of acting and filmmaking. “They (Karan and Rajvir) were not assisting me as such for this film (‘Ghayal Once Again’)… My elder son (Karan) was assisting me on ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’. For ‘Ghayal Once Again’, they were there in the writing area as I used to discuss things with them,” Sunny said.

His directorial venture “Ghayal Once Again”, a sequel of his 1990 blockbuster “Ghayal” will hit cinema houses tomorrow. Post its release, the actor-director will take a decision on Karan’s Bollywood debut.

“After ‘Ghayal Once Again’ releases, I will decide what to do next. I am waiting for the release…it will give me confidence on whether to direct the film or not (for Karan),”
he said.

“We are working on a project with my son (Karan). It would happen after ‘Ghayal Once Again’. Both my sons want to become actors, they are focused about it. They are not someone trying to get six pack abs, they want to do good work,” he added.
The “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” star insists it is not a conscious decision to launch Karan in Bollywood but as he did not get any interesting script or a good director so he himself stepped in for his son’s debut project.

“If we have a great script and director then why not (someone else launch Karan). My father (Dharmendra) did not direct me. We haven’t got anything interesting, so I am looking into it and will take it ahead.”
