SIRSA CALLS UPON PARENTS TO PLAY PRO ACTIVE ROLE IN EDUCATING CHILDREN ABOUT OUR HERITAGE AND CULTURE

New Delhi, May 18 : The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has given a call to parents to play pro active role in educating children about our socio-religious heritage and culture.
Extending greetings to the people on the occasion of Gurtagaddi diwas of sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib ji, Mr. Sirsa said that this time is crucial in our life which is witnessing a transition not only from one generation to another of human beings but transition also in style of living with adoption of high end technology and ultra modern gadgets. He said that in this phase of fast life equipped with technology our new generation is not aware of our glorious past.
He said that parent can play an important pro active role to teach this generation about our rich heritage and culture by fixing some amount of time for this purpose on daily basis. He said that coming summer vacations in educational institutions has also provided an opportunity for the same purpose. He said that these vacations can prove very useful if parents spare some time for teaching children about the history of sikh gurus sahiban, about the wars they fought and all about our institutions including Sri Akal Takht Sahib and other four takhts and about all important gurudwara sahibs.
He said that these vacations can also be utilized for organizing mass camps for the above purpose which will prove very useful. He said that DSGMC will extend all possible help to the parents if they intent to organize such mass events to teach children about our history. He said that it is time management which always counts and he was hopeful that parents will encash the opportunity of holidays to achieve this noble purpose.
