Chandigarh August 30 – The Shiromani Akali Dal today cautioned the people of Punjab against a grave danger to peace and communal harmony in the state through a deep rooted conspiracy of the Congress.The Core Committee declared the that party would hold a pol khol rally in the homeland of the Congress president Sunil Jakhar and it would show to them where the people of Punjab really stand . The meeting said that those who attacked the Sachkahnd Sri Harmandar Sahib , Sri Akal takhat Sahib with tanks and mortars and killed thousands of innocent Sikhs are now trying to psoe as savior of the Sikhs. We will rip their veil apart and show their naked face before the people.Giving details of the meeting, party’s spokesperson , Harcharan Bains said that the Core Committee “reiterated it s outright rejection of the joke called the Ranjit Singh report. The party also reiterated its demand for an inquiry into the entire issue sacrilege and related events by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court. Why is the government running away from an independent inquiry by the apex court? A meeting of the Core Committee of the party held here this afternoon described the “the cheap and vulgar criticism on the persona of Akali supremo Sardar Parkash Singh Badal by the perpetrators of the army assault on Harmandar Sahib and killers of innocent Sikhs as “an assault on the Sikh community and on the SAD which “is the custodian of Sikh and Punjab interests.” The Core Committee warned the government that if anything untoward happens in the state, the responsibility for anything untoward will rest squarely with the government.”It is their responsibility to stop hoodlums from daring the Akali warriors. If they don’t perform their duty, then we will stop these goons and show to them where they stand .They are challenging the Akali heritage and they will know what they are up against.”The Core Committee said that if the Congress stooges and enemies of peace and agents of ISI together want to challenge the Shiromani Akali Dal, “we accept that challenge. We will protect Punjab and peace and communal harmony at all cost. “The Cogress wants to divert the people’s attention from the miserable failures of its government in the state. It has gone back on all tis promises and is now looking for ways to divert people’s attention from the issues of governance, development, social welfare etc.”The party declared that it would give a befitting and crushing response to these petty brickbats from known enemies of the Sikhs. “We dare the stooges of the Gandhi family and the inehriotors of Indira Gandhi’s legacy to test their mettle agains the might of the Khalsa Panth.
