Chandigarh, The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said the disclosures by the army that it was handing over videographic proof of the surgical strike against terrorist launch pads in Pakistan to the Union government was a stinging slap for doubters like AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal who were playing into the hands of anti-national forces by their confusing statements.
In a statement here, senior party leader and MP Prem Singh Chandumajra said it was disgusting that at a time when the entire country was one in supporting the army and the central government, people like Kejriwal were playing politics with national security.
The Akali mp said Kejriwal was in the habit of making wild statements and even lying and going back on his words, but even he should have thought ten times before making any statement which hurt national pride and the national cause. “Even I could not imagine such a statement from a leader who rode on a people’s movement launched by Anna Hazare to form AAP and who gives the impression that he wears his patriotism on his sleeve”.
Mr Chandumajra while lauding the army for collating and submitting proof about the surgical strikes to the government, said Kejriwal should apologise to the brave jawans who risked their lives to strike out against terrorist launch pads in Pak occupied Kashmir on September 26-27. “But knowing him and his nature this is too much to expect”, he added.
The Akali mp also advised Arvind Kejriwal to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the BJP as much as he wanted because he was bound to do so for political reasons. “Please however do not try to point fingers at any operation conducted by the armed forces as this is tantamount to disrespecting the entire nation”, he added.
