SAD says hypocrite Amarinder wants to give one job to each family now but failed to give any job to any family during his tenure as CM

Sukhdev_Singh_Dhindsa1Chandigarh, January 28 – The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today called Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh a hypocrite for assuring to provide one job to every family in Punjab when his own government had put a ban on government recruitment and failed to create any jobs in either the public or private sector during the five year Congress rule in 2002-2007.

In a statement here, senior party mps Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and Balwinder Singh Bhundur said it was mind boggling that Amarinder had during an interaction with students of the Panjab University even claimed that giving 1.13 lakh jobs to youth were not enough. “Nothing the SAD does will be enough for you Mr Amarinder”, the senior leaders said adding the 1.13 lakh jobs for which recruitment process had started now, were in addition to more than one lakh plus recruitment done in the SAD-BJP government tenure.

Stating that a leopard cannot change its spots, the SAD leaders reminded Amarinder that he had not done any special allocation to any of the three medical colleges in Punjab during his tenure and that all three institutions were revived once the SAD-BJP government took over charge of the State. “It is laughable that such a person, who even denied funds to the Patiala Medical College and hospital, is now telling students that Health is very important for progress and that he will concentrate on this once voted to power. You should have also taken the time out to tell students your ‘achievements’ in this sector”, the leaders added.

Urging Amarinder not to misguide students by making tall promises, the leaders said it would have been better if the Congress leader had listed the achievements of his government. “It is sad that Amarinder rambled through his interaction without listed a single achievement of his government”. They said the Congress leader also spoke out against contractual employment saying he was against it. “Isn’t it wilfull lying when you do not tell the truth that your government introduced the contractual employment system in the State”, Mr Dhindsa and Mr Bhundur said.

The leaders said it seemed Amarinder, who as before was surrounded by ‘darbaris’, was unable to see the ground under his feet and uttered lies with conviction thinking Punjabis were fools and would believe him because a Raja is not supposed to lie. Countering the statement of the Congress president that not a “single rupee” had been invested in Punjab through the last two investment summits, the SAD leaders said it seemed Amarinder was not even reading the newspapers. “If you had seen the newspapers you would have read the statement of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani stating his company had already invested Rs 3,900 crore in Punjab”. They said similarly Airtel was on record to have already invested Rs 1,398 crore. Other investors included Garg Acrylics who had invested Rs 322 crore, Nahar which invested Rs 150 crore, International Tractors Rs 213 crore and Madhav Alloys which spent Rs 109 crores. They said besides this Rs 16,000 crores had been invested by other players including big solar companies.

Stating that the Raja might be blind to the achievements of the SAD-BJP government, the leaders said it was unbecoming of the Congress leader to even lie to the students. They said Amarinder rambled about his efforts to improve the power position (without any success) while trying to downgrade the achievement of the SAD-BJP government by claiming the State was not getting uninterrupted quality power. “At least do not lie. Call a spade a spade”, they said to the Congress leader.
