Says only 18 member core committee based abroad can make recommendations on new appointments in the party in US and Canada
Chandigarh, October 10 – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today directed party zonal and city presidents in the United States and Canada not to make any appointments without the nod of the party.
In a statement here, the SAD president said there had been reports of Party presidents and chairmen making appointments in their respective areas in their own. He said this should not happen as the responsibility of broadening the party structure had been given to a high powered core committee.
Mr Badal said the 18 member high powered core committee would give a recommendation about new appointments to him and only then would new appointments be made. “Any appointment which is made without getting the same ratified by the party high command through the core committee will be treated as null and void”, he added.
