Situation remains tense in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as strike enters 4th day
Chandigarh/03 August:The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president today announced the names of 16 district presidents of the party’s farmers wing after having extensive deliberation over the matter with the Wing president and former minister S. Sikandar Singh Maluka .
Giving information from the party headquarters, the SAD president said that new responsibilities have been assigned to those farmer leaders who had persistently been doing a commendable job in highlighting and resolving the farmer issues.
Disclosing the names of the leaders who have been appointed as district presidents, S. Badal said that SGPC member S. Surjit Singh Garhi was appointed as district president of Patiala while Master Joginder Singh Daburji has been made district president of Ropar. He added that S. Sarbjit Singh Kadimajra, Ex SGPC member S. Harjinder Singh Lallian and S Jasbir Singh Dhammi have been appointed as district presidents of Mohali, Jalandhar and Barnala respectively. S. Badal said that S. Gurbux Singh Dhoorkot and S. Iqbal Singh Johal were made district presidents of Faridkot and Hoshiarpur while S. Satnam Sing Ladian, S. Satnam Singh Dhippanwali and S.Amarjit Singh Landheke were deputed as district presidents of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Fazilka and Moga respectively.
The SAD president said that for Taran Taaran, Firozpur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Pathankot districts, S. Bhagwant Singh Kasel, S Joga Singh Murkawala, S. Karnail Singh Dadiana and S. Daljit Singh Mahi have been appointed as district presidents respectively. He further added that S. Karamjit Singh Grewal Khasi Kalan and S. Harinderjit Singh Fatehgarh were deputed as district presidents of Ludhiana and Sangrur respectively.
The list of remaining office-bearers will also be announced shortly, disclosed S. Maluka.
