Ronaldinho : ‘I Need Win Something in Mexico’

Mexico, Ronaldinho says he feels young again after joining Mexican club Queretaro.

“I’m like a youngster that is starting over,” he said Friday at the official presentation of the former Barcelona and Brazil star, who hopes to bring the modest team its first title.

“I’m up for it and I want to make history with this club. I’m motivated.”

That’s just what the fans wanted to hear from a famous player who may be with his final club.

Ronaldinho has been without a club since leaving Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro in July.

“I need to win something in Mexico,” the 2002 World Cup winner said. “I’ve come here for that and I’m going to fight to help my team win something.”

Queretaro signed with the Mexico club a week ago, and is expected to play his first match next week. He’s a two-time winner of the FIFA World Player of the Year award, the first recipient to play in Mexico.

The club is under new ownership and has high hopes — and much depends on Ronaldinho.

“I just arrived,” he said. “I’m well physically but I shouldn’t play today. In a few days I can be part of the group and, if the coach wants, I can play immediately.”
