Ranbir Kapoor’s connection with music and Lata Mangeshkar

New Delhi: Legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar and versatile actor Ranbir Kapoor share their birthday on the same day, that of 28th September. And it seems Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s son, Ranbir Kapoor, took lessons from Lata Mangeshkar to satisfy his love for music.

India’s nightingale Lataji has sung uncountable songs for the Hindi film industry and yes, she was a very close friend of Ranbir’s grandfather Raj Kapoor. She turned 87 today.

It is heard that Ranbir who is a big fan of Kishore Kumar was excited to yodel like the great singer in his debut movie ‘Saawariya’. He also got a chance to shake a leg while performing for the remix of ‘Bachna Ae Hasseeno’, which was sung by Kishore da in 1977 and Rishi Kapoor danced on the same. Being Kishore’s fan, Ranbir wanted to learn of the inner life of the multi-talented actor and felt that Lata Mangeshkar, who was a close friend and associate of KK, was the appropriate connect to give insights of the great singer’s life.

Ranbir’s love for music can also be seen from his choice of roles in moves. In the movie ‘Rockstar’ directed by Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir Kapoor aka Janardhan Jakhar a.k.a. JJ and Jordan, dreams of becoming a famous rock star like his inspiration Jim Morrison.

Also in his upcoming movie, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, directed by Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor is seen playing a singer and this time it is Pakistani heart-throb Fawad Khan who accompanies the lead actor. Ranbir, in ADHM is portraying a role of a singer whose musical journey takes him across the globe. ‘Mama’s boy’, Ranbir Kapoor, will be seen dancing to the tunes of the ‘70s and ‘80s along with ‘Sultan’ starrer Anushka Sharma.
