Jalandhar, Congress leaders led by Santokh Singh Chaudhary MP Jalandhar pay floral tributes to former CM S. Beant Singh on his Martyrdom Day in Jalandhar.
Speaking on the occasion the MP said that he along with other Congress worke are proud to have worked with the great man who sacrificed his life for the national integrity,unity and peace.
His relentless endeavour cost him his life which is a rare example anywhere in the world where terrorism was totally contained.
His sacrifice can never be forgotten he added.
Paying rich tributes to the former CM S. Beant Singh PYC President Vikramjit Singh along with YC activist pledged to keep the flame of national integration alive and work relentlessly to carry forward his mission of peace and unity in the state.
PYC chief urged the state government to declare 31st August as martyrdom day rising above party affiliations and organise state level “Shardhanjali Diwas” annually as a mark of gratitude for a leader who laid down his life to bring peace and normalcy in the state of Punjab.
