PUNJAB STATE SCHEDULED CASTES COMMISSION SUMMONS DEPUTY COMMISSIONER MOHALI

Chandigarh, May 19:The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has summoned the Deputy Commissioner, Mohali in person on 22nd June, 2017 owing to the careless attitude exhibited by the latter towards the commission.

Disclosing this here today, the Chairman of the commission Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that the commission had received a complaint from Mrs. Raj Rani w/o Late Sohan Singh r/o village Palheri, Tehsil Kharar, District S.A.S. Nagar according to which she was denied the benefit under ‘Swachh Bharat Scheme’ when the construction work of a toilet at her house was stopped.

Mr. Bagha further said that the commission had sought a report from the competent officer till 11thMay in the matter but even after repeated reminders neither any representative of the Deputy Commissioner appeared before the commission nor was the report received which clearly shows the incautious attitude on the part of Deputy Commissioner, Mohali towards the commission.

The Chairman also divulged that the next hearing with regard to this complaint has been scheduled for 22nd June. The commission has also directed the Divisional Commissioner, Rupnagar to ensure the compliance of the orders of the commission by the Deputy Commissioner, Mohali.
