Punjab state child rights protection commission summons Deputy director (Factories) of labour department

SUKESH-KALIALudhiana, The Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission has summoned Deputy Director Factories of Labour Department, Ludhiana and has directed him to bring record of all raids carried out to check Child Labour in the Ludhiana district from June 1, 2016 onwards. The Deputy Director is directed to appear before Commission chairman Mr Sukesh Kalia at his office, Van Bhawan, Second Floor, Tower-4, Sector 68, SAS Nagar at 11 am on June 21, 2016.

Mr Sukesh Kalia said that Mr Jatinder Singh Bhatti, Deputy Director Factories of Labour Department, Ludhiana, has been asked to bring all record related to raids carried to check child labour in the district from June 1, 2016 till June 20, 2016. He said that he would not tolerate child labour in the district and that the Labour Department officials should take strict steps to check it.

He further urged the industrialists and businessmen to not indulge in child labour as it is a serious offence and if any person is found employing child labour in their premises, strict action would be taken against them. He also directed the officials to make sure there is no child labour in Ludhiana district.
