Election Commission appoints 15 expenditure observers in Punjab
* Takes serious note of irresponsive behaviour shown by Department
Chandigarh, June 5: The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes today summoned Secretary and Director Local Bodies Department both with a condition of their personal appearance before the Commission for June 23.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that the commission had received a complaint from in 2009 the Legal Assistant of Chad raised the issue of partial treatment meted out to the scheduled castes in the matter of promotion as legal assistant. He said that the commission had taken a serious note of the complaint and sought a report from local government department but the department paid any heed to it. After this, inspite of repeated reminders sent by the commission, neither did department submit any replied nor did any of it’s officers appeared before the commission. Considering the graveness of the issue, the commission has directed Secretary and Director of the department to appear before it on 23rd June along with report and sworn statements.
