PUNJAB SC COMMISSION DIRECTS SSP BATHINDA TO SUBMIT REPORT REGARDING MOLESTATION OF MINOR GIRL

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 29: Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has directed SSP Bathinda to submit a report within 15 days concerning molestation of a 14 year old girl, a resident of Hans Nagar. The commission has also directed strong action to be taken in the case.

Disclosing this, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that a member of SC Commission Mr. Rajinder Kumar Guddu has brought this matter to the notice of the commission. He said that a neighbour, who is married, of the victim girl has molested and outraged the modesty of the girl.

Mr. Bagha further said that the FIR in the case was registered after 2 days and not only this, but some influential persons with political connections pressurized the father of the girl to withdraw the case. On the refusal from girl’s side to withdraw case and strike a compromise, her mother was attacked brutally regarding which a case under section 307 was registered after medical report. He also divulged that the complaint submitted by the girl to the commission also contains a mention of some high profile people with political affiliations boasting of getting accused released, Video of victim girl being in possession of such people, Death threats to father of girl for not withdrawing case and implication in a false case.

Mr. Bagha said that taking serious notice of the case, the commission has directed the Bathinda SSP to initiate strict action and submit a report.
