New Delhi, The Supreme Court today declared the Punjab termination of Agreements Act, 2004 as unconstitutional.
This legislation was enacted by the Capt Amarinder Singh government in Punjab to block the construction of the Satluj Yamuna Link Canal to carry waters to Haryana.
The Supreme Court has taken up this issue following Presidential reference.
It may be mentioned that this legislation was adopted unanimously by the Punjab Assembly.
This is a big set back for Punjab.

The judgement was reserved on May 11.
