Chandigarh, September 1: Punjab Government has declared September 4, 2016 as holiday for workers who are the voters of village Daria , U.T. Chandigarh to exercise their franchise in bye-election of Panch in Garam Panchayat Daria .
Disclosing this here today an official Spokesperson of Punjab Government said that the holiday was declared to enable the workmen working in the Factories situated in the State of Punjab residents of village Daria , U.T. Chandigarh. He also said that this holiday would be in lieu of their normal weekly holiday.
He further said that workmen working in Shops and Commercial Establishments situated in the four district i.e Mohali, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Roopnagar can also get paid holiday on said date.
