Power outages as snow blankets Calgary, again

Calgary,As most Canadians ease into autumn, residents of southern Alberta are contending with massive power outages and slippery roads after yet another early blast of winter snow.
A snowfall warning remained in effect for Calgary and nearby regions Wednesday morning, as more snow continued to fall, just days after a late-summer snowstorm hit Monday. The snow is weighing down trees, causing branches to snap and take down power lines.
Power utility ENMAX said it deployed extra crews to deal with power outages affecting approximately 30,000 customers
“Please drive carefully, lots of traffic lights are out,” ENMAX tweeted. “Thanks for your patience on this cold and dark morning!”
As plows and sanders try to stay ahead of the snowfall, emergency officials are urging drivers to take extra time due to slippery road conditions.
Environment Canada says another 10 centimetres of snow could fall in Calgary on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, city crews in Calgary were busy cleaning up after a late summer snowstorm brought several centimetres of snow.
Monday’s storm was a drastic change in weather conditions from Sunday, when the high of 25 C was recorded in the city.
