Patiala journalists decided to boycott Bhagwant Mann

Patiala, September 2 : An emergency meeting of the General House of the Patiala Media Club here today decided to boycott the media coverage of Member Parliament Bhagwant Mann for his utterance against the media fraternity in Bassi Pathana and his role in instigating the people to shoo away journalists who had gone their for the coverage of the event last evening at Bassi Pathana.

Meeting which was presided over by the President Mr. Sarbjit Singh Bhangu strongly condemned the highly objectionable behavior of the Member Parliament. General Secretary Rajesh Panjola, Treasurer Gupreet Singh Chattha and other members present on the occasion felt that this is not the first time when he has behaved indecently with the media fraternity. They said that from his actions it appears that he has now become an habitual offender. It was decided that the members of the club will hold a protest demonstration by showing black flags to him during his proposed Ghanour rally on 6th September. Members also felt that the scribes at Ghanour should also be contacted to make these protest a mass movement. It was also felt that a memorandum on the issue could also be handed over to AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal when comes to Patiala later this month.

Members also decided that the boycott will continue till he apologizes to the fraternity for his misbehavior. It was also decided the President will write to Punjab Police DGP Mr. Suresh Arora to ensure that a case is filed against Bhagwant Mann as per law. Members lauded the stand of the Chandigarh Press Club and Jalandhar Press Club on the issue. They also raised slogans against Bhagwant Mann on the occasion.
