Chandigarh, 04 September: Refuting the Media reports regarding reservation process of Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad it is clarified that under the Punjab Panchayat Samiti End Zilla Parishad Reservation of the Territorial Consequences Rules, 2018 reservation of Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad should be made at least 7 days before filing nominations.
Giving details of this process the official spokesperson said that the reservation process of these elections has been completed before the stipulated time.
It is pertinent to mention that as per the programme declared by the State Election Commission, these elections would be held on 19th September, 2018 and the date of filing of nominations for the Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishid Elections is from 04.09.2018 to 07.09.2018.
The fact is that all the Deputy Commissioners got the copies of the reservations of Zila Parishids and Panchayat Samities published on 25th August, 2018 and these copies were submitted to the state election commission on 26th August, 2018. So the said media reports are factually incorrect.
