One time settlement scheme for sick industrial units soon: Arora

Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Mr. Sundar Shyam Arora today announced that the new industrial policy will unveil on next month, which will bolster the industry of the state. The provision of one time settlement for sick industrial units also part of this policy.

To take the stock of the grievances of local industrialists and traders here today, Mr. Arora said that backlog of Vat Refund Cases will clear soon and he talked about this with Union Finance Minister. He said that Government would issue Rs 300 crores after every two months and and this backlog will be cleared up to December 2018. He said that the Government is committed to sort out all the problems of industrialists and in this regard no stone will unturn. Meeting of the industrialists will organize every month by the administration and He will review the situation after three months at the departmental level.

Mr. Arora said that the working of the industry department will goes online so that time and money could be saved. After completion of this whole process every industrialists will know status of his application at the level of the government. Commending the industrialists of the state The Minister said that the industries have get the electricity at a cost of Rs 5 per unit and Rs 1440 crores issued to powercom for this purpose. He said that ambit of this subsidy will enhance and other industrials units would also get this benefit. Mr. Arora said that he will talk with Union Government for relief to border industrial units and none of the industrial units will go to other states for sake of our states interest. He said that MOUs of Rs 590 crores signed for new industrial units by industrialists of Amritsar.

On this Occasion Environment Minister Mr. Om Parkash Soni said that employment generation is the need of the hour so that our younger generation should not goes to other nations for the dream of the green pastures. The Minister said that demand of the industrialists, He also instructed the officials to change weekly power cut goes on Sunday instead of Monday. He further said that the Punjab Government approved Rs 40 crore for Patti-Makhu railway line as state share.

Member of Lok Sabha Mr. Gurjit Singh Aujla appealed to the Minister to take care of the industry of Amritsar so that it can be flourish in this competitive world. On this occasion Mr. Sunil Datti, Member of Legislative assembly, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, Principal Secretary, Industry and Commerce, Mr. D.P.S Kharbanda, Director, Mr. Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Deepti Uppal, Mr. Avneet Kumar (IAS), Mr. Jugal Kishore, President Urban Unit, Mr. Bhagwantpal Singh Sachhar, President Rural Unit and Captain Sanjeev Kumar, OSD to Environment Minister were also present.
