Uber Cup badminton: India’s young women’s squad beats Canada 4-1
LOS ANGELES, April 19 — British-born actress Naomi Watts is confirmed to star as the lead in the new Netflix psychological thriller Gypsy, with the first two episodes to be directed by Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
The series, produced by Universal Television, Working Title and writer Lisa Rubin, is set to span 10 episodes and is slated for a 2017 premiere.
Two-time Oscar nominee Watts will act as Jean Holloway, a therapist who entwines herself in the private lives of people associated with her patients.
Watts’ commitment to the series marks her largest stateside TV commitment to date (via The Hollywood Reporter). She has previously starred in smaller roles in television productions such as NBC’s sci-fi drama Sleepwalkers and Australian drama Home and Away.
