Chandigarh: 18.09.15: – Farmers from Punjab will lead the “Punjab Samman Rally” at New Delhi on September 20th 2015. This was disclosed by S Inderjit Singh Zira, Chairman, Kisankhetmajdoor cell PPCC today at press conference in Chandigarh. Thanking the Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi and the Congress Vice President Sh Rahul Gandhi for the historic victory in the Land Acquisition Bill, S Zira said that more than 25000 farmers from across the state will reach Delhi to thank their leaders who have actually fought for the rights of the farmers. Even the farmers from the Punjab and the KisanKhetMajdoor cell also contributed in this agitation against the proposed land amendment bill by protesting across the state.
Terming the Punjab Government as the anti farmer, S Zira said that farmers have not been paid their compensation of the wheat loss as promised by S Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab which is amounting to 2175 crore. Now again the farmer in the malwa belt have suffered huge losses due to white fly which is amounting to 30000crore. Even the mandi laborer has also suffered loss to the tune of 500crore. More than 8000 farmers have committed suicides in the last 8 years of this government’s rule. Nothing was discussed about the procurement in the cabinet meeting held yesterday in Chandigarh. This shows the seriousness of the this anti farmer government.
Zira also demanded that SIT should be formed under the sitting Judge of Punjab Haryana High Court to investigate into the spurious quality of pesticide used in the farm sector. He also demanded that farmers should be given compensation of 50 crore by the union government immediately, failing this KisanKhetMajdoor Cell PPCC will launch statewide agitation.
