Uber Cup badminton: India’s young women’s squad beats Canada 4-1

The Punjab Congress on Friday got another boost with several senior leaders of Akali Dal and AAP joining the party in the presence of Captain Amarinder Singh.
Malwa Zone Youth Akali Dal vice president Kamaljit Singh along with several other party leaders and supporters, mostly from Ludhiana, were welcomed into the party fold by Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder, who said the large number of leaders from other parties coming into the Congress on a regular basis indicated the huge wave in favour of the party ahead of the assembly polls.
Among other prominent joinees are Akali Dal Ludhiana Press Secretary Mandeep Singh Monty, SAD Ludhiana Press Secretary Vinay Sagar, YAD Ludhiana Joint Secretary Sandeep Sabharwal, YAD Ludhiana Secretary Vipan Sharma, SAD Ludhiana Member Gurinderpal Singh Raju, YAD Ludhiana Secretary Varun Rakheja, SAD Ludhiana Member Jaswinder Singh , SAD Ludhiana Vice-President Davinder Singh Kaka.
Around a dozen AAP leaders from various districts, including Jalalabad, Fazilka and Ferozepur, also joined the Congress. Among these were general secretary Gurjeet Singh Sidhu, Zone Media Incharge Babbal Buttar, Balbir Chand from Kisan Wing Jalalabad and AAP Secretary Amritpal Singh.
