Modi offered Cabinet berth to Pawar’s daughter: Sena MP

Mumbai, September 11
Did Supriya Sule, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and daughter of Sharad Pawar, refuse an offer by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to include her in the Cabinet?
According to Sanjay Raut, editor of Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna, Pawar in a meeting had confided in him that Modi had offered a Cabinet berth to Sule.

Writing in his column in the Sunday edition of the newspaper, Raut quoted Pawar as saying that he along with daughter Supriya Sule had met with Modi where an alliance between the BJP and the NCP was broached.
The proposal included inducting Sule in the Union Cabinet.
However, Sule turned down the proposal to align with the BJP saying she would be the last person to join hands with the BJP, Raut quoted Pawar as telling him.

The write up by Raut, a member of the Rajya Sabha, comes days after Modi expanded his Cabinet.
At that time there were strong rumours that the NCP would join the NDA and Sule would be inducted in Modi’s team.
Today, Sule denied the contents of Raut’s article. “I never met the prime minister with Mr Pawar,” Sule told reporters here.
However, she did not reveal whether the prime minister made an offer for the NCP to join the BJP-led coalition.
NCP spokesman Nawab Malik told reporters that his party would not join with the BJP because of ideological differences between them.
“Sanjay Raut was trying to create some controversy with his article,” Malik said.
