Aam Aadmi Party on Monday rubbishes Punjab Rural Welfare and Panchayat Minister, Tript Rajinder Singh Bjawa’s statement that it is good that gang-wars are happening in Punjab and criminals are killing each other. In a press statement, AAP MLA and leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Adv. H.S. Phoolka said that the statement is highly condemnable and it shows that the government has failed to provide peaceful environment to the people of state.

Phoolka said that the minister must take his statement back and apologize publically for his ridiculous statement. He demanded that Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh must clarify his stand on the statement of his cabinet minister. He said that people of Punjab are in state of trauma and ministers in the government rather than correcting the situation are issuing bizarre statements.

AAP leader said that it is well known that the gangs in state cannot operate without political patronage and political leaders use them for their own purposes. “The gangs are operating in state for last 15 years, earlier Akalis were using them for their political purposes and with change of guard in state now Congress leaders are patronizing them.” Phoolka alleged.

Phoolka said that the Police Chief of state himself admitted before media that more than 50 gangs are operating in state so it is the duty of the government to give free hand to police to catch the gangsters.
