Chandigarh, April 18: The Punjab Government has not considered merging of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Technical University with IK Gujral PTU at any level, such false rumors are being spread by political opponents to tarnish the image of Captain Amrinder Singh led Punjab Government. Clearing the stand on the issue Punjab Technical Education Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi said that he had never given any such statement on the merger of the above said universities neither this issue had been discussed at any level in the department.
Mr. Channi said that nobody would be allowed to play with interests of the students as interests of students are supreme for us and Punjab Government is committed to provide quality job oriented education to the youth of the state through its technical institutes. The Minister also appealed to the students not to fall into the trap of false rumors of political opponents.
