Joint delegation of SAD-BJP met Union HRD Minister and urged him to ensure uniformity in moderation policy

Chandigarh June,2—A joint delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal and Bhartia Janta Party met the Union Minister for Human Resource Development Mr. Prakash Javadekar in Chandigarh today and urged him to bring uniformity in the moderation policies being adopted by different Educational Boards of the Country. The delegation comprised of former Education Minister of Punjab Dr, Daljit Singh Cheema and Charanjit Singh Brar from SAD and Mr. Harjit Singh Grewal State Vice President and Mr. Vineet Joshi State Secretary BJP.

The delegation brought it to the notice of the HRD Minister that at present different yardsticks are being applied by CBSE and other state boards. This has caused discrimination with the students form various state boards and they are likely to suffer while competing with CBSE students.

The delegation also requested the Union Minister to do away with the ‘no detention’ policy and also allow the states to hold board examination at the level of 5th&8th standard. In addition the need to start Pre-Primary classes was also stressed. The Hon’ble Union Minister was very positive throughout the discussion and assured the delegation that steps will taken to implement these suggestion at the earliest.
