President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Mr. Sunil Jakhar today hailed the maiden budget presented by Finance Minister Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal as a visionary and pro-people budget aimed at giving boost to the economy of the state.
In a statement issued here today, Mr. Jakhar said that this budget would give impetus to the state and ensure the revival of the Agriculture, Industry and Education sector. He said that people of state had voted the Congress party under leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh with great hope and the first pro-people and development oriented budget proves that Captain government is determined to cherish the aspirations of the people. Mr. Jakhar said that we had inherited empty exchequer along with billion of debt but the managerial skills of Finance Minister Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal are really laudable.
The PPCC Chief said that the budget had taken care of every strata of society. He said that on one hand the debts of farmers have been waived off and on the other hand the budget for Urban development has been increased manifolds. Mr. Jakhar also lauded the decision of the state government to enhance the pension given to weaker sections of the society is also laudable. He also welcomed the decision to increase the budgetary provision for ensuring the welfare of the Schedule Caste brethren in the state.
The PPCC Chief said that the decision to enhance budgetary allocation for Employment generation and Training program would go a long way in wiping out the curse of unemployment in the state. Repeating the firm commitment of the state government to fulfill every promise made to the people, Mr. Jakhar said that the election manifesto was a sacred document for them and every promise made in it would be fulfilled.
