Jagdish Tytler sting: Sampla seeks immediate FIR against Tytler, custodial probe: Sampla

Chandigarh, February 6, The confessions made by Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the five sting videos released yesterday is the biggest evidence which proves his role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. This was stated by Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla while talking to reporters in the Chandigarh.

Sampla said that in an interview to a private news channel, Jagdish Tytler had disclosed that a day after the massacre had begun; he along with then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had visited the riot affected areas without any security. Sampla said, “He has confirmed that he knew about the anti-Sikh riots by roaming around in the riot affected areas during the violence”.

Sampla said that in view of the confessions, there is no doubt over Tytler’s role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. “In the sting videos, Tytler has revealed how the judicial probes were influenced by using blackmoney. It is evident now that if an FIR is not registered immediately then the truth behind his and other Congress leaders’ involvement, including Rajiv Gandhi, won’t be ascertained. Therefore, he should be arrested immediately and be probed in custody”, said Sampla.

Sampla further said that Tytler’s interview confirms his and Rajiv Gandhi’s involvement in the anti-Sikh riots, hence Rajiv Gandhi should be stripped of the Bharat Ratna and names of all the schemes which bear his name be changed.
