Internet service providers snap services in Punjab without official orders, consumers fume

Chandigarh, February 14, 2024: Internet service providers in the Punjab have suspended services in various districts including Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Bathinda, without official orders of the Punjab government.

Punjab Home Secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh has categorically told Babushahi.com, that no such order was been issued to suspend internet services in the state by Punjab government.

Despite official stand of the government, internet service provided have suspended wifi and mobile internet services illegally in the state. Consumers are very upset with such illegal and illogical stand of the companies as work in different fields specially in field of media is affected badly.

It is worth mentioning here that Haryana government has issued official orders to suspend internet services in seven districts of the state but in Punjab there are no such orders.

Farmer unions are trying to enter Haryana from Punjab side and there is no such problem in Punjab which invites suspension of internet services as Punjabis are overwhelmingly supporting farmers.
