Iggy Azalea slams Beyoncé lyric

f4Washington, Rapper Iggy Azalea took to Twitter on Monday night to criticise Beyoncé’s use of the negative white woman stereotype “Becky” in her new album Lemonade that her fans have been obsessing over.

According to Dailymail.co.uk, “Don’t ever call me a ‘Becky’,” she tweeted, referring to the fact that the word is used to describe “a generic white woman with straight hair”. She tweeted to another user, “Do you know how many time people have called me ‘Becky’? It didn’t have any kind of positive intention behind it. Don’t start. Generalising any race by calling them one stereotypical name for said race. I personally don’t think is very cool, the end.”

She did however, clarify that she was only criticising the lyric and not Beyoncé herself.
