IF PM HAD AUTHENTIC INPUTS, BY MAKING IT PUBLIC HE HAS VIOLATED THE OATH OF SECRECY – SUNIL JAKHAR

Chandigarh, Dec 20: Reiterating the demand of Congress Party for PM Narendra Modi`s apology for his Pakistan related comments against former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur Mr. Sunil Jakhar said that if Prime Minister really had some authentic inputs against former Prime Minister and others in this regard, then he should have shared these with national investigating agencies rather than making statements in Public rally and by doing so Prime Minister had violated the oath of secrecy he took while assuming the charge of PMO.

While talking with media persons outside Parliament today, Mr. Jakhar said that if there was such sensitive information actually Prime Minister had, then instead of making it public in the election rally, it should be provided to National Security advisor, National investigating Agency (NIA), Military Intelligence, CBI etc so that action could be taken immediately. He said that this act of the Prime Minister was unethical and undemocratic.

However, Mr. Jakhar said that in fact, the Prime Minister had no such information and he had made this baseless charge only for getting political gains so that in any way, the BJP’s could win in Gujarat.

Mr. Sunil Jakhar said that if the Prime Minister does not have any proof, then he should apologize for his wrong comment against the former Prime Minister on moral grounds.

Mr. Jakhar further said that basically the BJP is not respecting the honor of the post of Prime Minister, but his Congress party respects the dignity of the Prime Minister’s status. That is why he also urged the Speaker to call the Prime Minister to her office to clarify the issue. He said that the Congress does not want to humiliate Prime Minister Mr. Modi but the Congress only wants from him to accept whatever wrong he has said and apologize for these allegations.

While speaking on other query regarding the reports of Sikhs being forced to convert their religion in Pakistan, Jakhar demanded immediate intervention from the Prime Minister and said that tomorrow the Congress MP from Punjab will also meet Foreign Affairs Minister.
