High Court issues notice to Punjab government on Surat Singh Khalsa case

Chandigarh, October 5: The Punjab and Haryana high court today issued notice to the Punjab government on the petition filed by Ravinderjit Singh, son of fasting octogenarianSikh activist Surat Singh Khalsa admitted in the PGI here.
He has prayed that his father should not be treated without the consent of the family members. Moreover, the family members should be allowed to meet him.
It may be mentioned that Khalsa stopped taking food from January 16 last pressing for the release of Sikh prisoners under detention for militancy related cases.
He was shifted to the PGI here by the state government as his condition deteriorated a few days back.
