India to facilitate the first-ever focused working group discussions on Antarctic tourism
Mumbai, Following an application filed by actor Karisma Kapoor accusing her estranged husband Sunjay Kapur and her mother-in-law Rani Surinder Kapur of mental cruelty and harassment, Khar police registered a case Thursday.
An FIR has been registered under section 498(A) (husband or the relatives of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 34 (common intent) of the IPC.
“The complaint was given on behalf of the actress by her lawyer last week,” an official told The Indian Express.”The statements of the two accused in the complaint will be recorded and depending on what the probe concludes, action will be taken. We are not looking at arresting anybody immediately,” the officer said
“We have filed an application last week for mental harassment and cruelty against the two” Sanjog S Parab, senior counsel for Kapoor told The Indian Express.
Parab and another senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani have been engaged by Kapoor to deal with the case. When asked about the content of the application, Parab refused to elaborate. “I have only exercised the right available to me and sought a legal remedy,” he said. The couple is fighting a divorce case in the family court in Mumbai.
