Governor administers oath to 2 members of PPSC & 1 state information commissioner

Chandigarh, The Punjab Governor, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil today administered the oath of office, allegiance to the Constitution of India and secrecy to Mrs. Jaspal Kaur and Mr. Mohan Lal as Members of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and Mr. Ajit Singh Chanuraian as State Information Commissioner, Punjab in a brief but impressive ceremony held in the Banquet Hall of Punjab Raj Bhavan.

Earlier, the Chief Secretary, Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal sought the permission of the Governor to start the swearing in ceremony. Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal also graced the occasion and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and their Cabinet colleagues Mr.Adaish Partap Singh Kairon, Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra and Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, several senior civil and police officers were also present on the occasion.

Prominent amongst others who attended the swearing-in-ceremony included Mr. Sukdev Singh Dhindsa and Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder (both Rajya Sabha Members). Lt. Gen Tejinder Singh PPSC Chairman, Mr. S.S. Channy Chief Information Commissioner, Mr. H.P.S.Mann, Mrs. Rupan Deol Bajaj, Mr. Surinder Awasthi all Information Commissioners and Mr. R.I.Singh former Chief Information Commissioner, were also present amongst the family members, friends and well-wishers of newly appointed Members.
