Chandigarh,  BIS Chahal, former media adviser to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, is set to return as his adviser.
During Amarinder’s previous tenure from 2002 to 2007, he functioned as media adviser and was seen as the most powerful person around the CM.
After being defeated in ‎the 2007 election, Amarinder and Chahal faced vigilance cases registered by Parkash Singh Badal-led SAD government. An old associate of Amarinder’s, Chahal would again be seen in the important role in the new Congress government.

In the Vidhan Sabha elections, Chahal could not get a ticket for his son from Mansa.
Raveen Thukral, who has been associated with Amarinder during the elections, is likely to be his media adviser. Another Capt loyalist Vimal Sumbly could be appointed press secretary.
Both Chahal and Thukral will be given MoS rank.
Sources said other key persons around the CM–Capt Sandeep Sandhu, Maj Amardeep Singh and Karanpal Sekhon–would soon be appointed as OSDs to the CM.
