EDUCATION MINISTER CONGRATULATES TEACHING COMMUNITY ON ‘TEACHERS DAY’

CHANDIGARH, SEPTEMBER 4:
The Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary has extended her greetings to the entire teaching community on the eve of ‘Teachers Day’ which would be observed tomorrow.
In a statement here today, Mrs. Chaudhary in her congratulatory message said that this day is observed to commemorate the memory of the second President and the first Vice President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan whose birthday is celebrated as Teachers Day. The minister further said that this day is an occasion to get inspired by the life and philosophy of the great philosopher and teacher Dr. Radhakrishnan and scale greater heights in the educational field. The minister also termed the teachers as the nation builders and the creators of an egalitarian society.
The minister further added that the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh would bestow the ‘Teachers Day’ gift to the newly recruited 1337 master cadre teachers by giving them appointment letters during ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ mela to be held tomorrow at the multipurpose stadium Mohali. Divulging more, Mrs. Chaudhary said that on the occasion, the Chief Minister would also give appointment letters to 50 next of kin of deceased employees on compassionate grounds. Out of these, 40 have been appointed as clerks while 10 have been recruited as class-4 employees.
