* CM inaugurates the service by sending best wishes to the students
of 10th and 12th standards for their examination
Chandigarh, Education department today formally inaugurated the much awaited SMS services for 10th and 12th students of Punjab. Chief Minister Mr.Prakash Singh Badal kicked off the service by extending best wishes to all 1.28 lakhs 12th class students for their board examination.
Disclosing this here today Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister said that the motive of this SMS service is to provide career guidance and counselling to the students for the future prospective.
He said that the department has prepared the database of 2.78lakhs students among this figure 1.50 lakh students belonged to 10th and 1.28 lakh students belonged to 12th standard. He said that the mobile number of one of the family members of these students has been stored by the department for sending SMSs.
Dr. Cheema further added through this portal information regarding course admissions and job placements will be given to the students. “The students now can get the information regarding career guidance and counselling through SMS service sitting at their homes”. he added.
