Chandigarh/New Delhi : 15 October 2015- The Delhi Gurdwara management committee (DSGMC) President Manjit Singh GK and General secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa today demanded registration of a case of murder against those behind sacrilege of Shri Guru Granth Sahib in village Bargadi of District Faridkot and also demanded stern action against the Punjab Police jawans who fired on the Sikh sangat holding peaceful protest in Kotkapura.

The two leaders today appealed to Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal in meeting at his Chandigarh residence.

GK said that due to the unfortunate incident of sacrilege Sikhs living in india and in foreign countries have been feeling hurt and Punjab police action against the peaceful Sikh protestors was unwarranted. “Sikh panth preaches universal brotherhood and humanity and also has the right to lodge protest against any wrong committed on the Sikhs and the police must keep this in mind,” said GK.

Conveying the sentiments of Sikhs particularly living in Delhi, Sirsa told Sukhbir Singh Badal that the sacrilege in Faridkot must be condemned by everyone and the Punjab government should make all efforts to arrest the perpetrators of this criminal act. He welcomed the announcement made by Sukhbir Singh Badal for announcing a reward of rupees one crore for anyone giving information about the perpetrators of sacrilege.
