Desperate Sarna takes shelter of dirty politics: Sirsa

Sirsa

Chandigarh/New Delhi: February 23-  SAD candidate from Ward number 9, Punjabi Bagh and DSGMC General Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has accused his rival SAD (Delhi) candidate Mr. Paramjit Singh Sarna for creating ruckus to sabotage his poll programme at Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha BG-6 (West Bihar) on Thursday.

Releasing a press statement Mr. Sirsa said, “The Sarna group had tried to intimidate our supporters and workers ahead of our scheduled programme at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha BG-6, Paschim Vihar on Thursday evening. They were instigating and threatening the locals to cancel our programme.”

Giving out details of the reason behind the incident Mr. Sirsa said that way back in 2003, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha BG-6, Paschim Vihar got a loan of Rs. 5 Lac from DSGMC for some construction work for the Gurdwara building. They could not pay it back due to financial constraints.

He said, “When we took charge of DSGMC; the Gurudwara BG-6 Management Committee approached us for help. Considering their request, DSGMC waived-off the remaining Rs.4 Lac 40 thousand amount of the loan”. As it was Guru Ghar’s money and would have been spent on another Guru Ghar.

Mr. Sirsa said, “The Sarna group got desperate on seeing the overwhelming response the Sikh community gave to our party. He starts playing dirty politics to avoid defeat and started hatching conspiracies to cancel the poll by committing all kinds of violations. I have complained to the DCP who has assured me of full cooperation in the wake of any foul play.”

Mr. Sirsa advised his rival Mr. Sarna to honor the democratic values to ensure fair and free elections in the DGSMC polls.
