Criminals dictating rules of business to government officials in state- Phoolka

Phoolka (1)

Chandigarh, May 18, 2017

Aam Aadmi Party senior leader and leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Adv. H.S. Phoolka on Thursday demanded an explanation from the Excise and Taxation minister about the meeting of liquor baron and SAD leader Shiv Lal Doda and Ferozepur divisional excise and taxation commissioner (DETC) Jaswinder Singh in Amritsar Jail. “Akalis has lost the elections in state but their intimacy with Congress leaders is helping them to continue to enjoy the power and running their businesses from the jails as well.” Phoolka said.

Phoolka said that it is disgusting to see that the government officials are flaying the rules and taking dictation from the criminals to run the business in state. Interestingly, just before the vidhan sabha elections in state, Doda was caught meeting local leaders of Akali Dal and BJP in Fazilka jail and after the media reports he was shifted to Amritsar jail.

“Doda’s dominance in the liquor trade even after the Congress has come to power shows that nothing has changed for criminals and leaders of both parties are hand in glove to loot the state.” Phoolka said. He demanded that Doda be kept under round-the-clock camera surveillance and no one be allowed to meet him without court’s permission. “Even after the incidents like Nabha jail break and everyday killings in state, Police and government are not serious about the law and order situation in the state.” Phoolka said.
